AMD Releases Radeon RX 6000M Series GPUs for Gaming Laptops
AMD has officially launched a graphics processing ( GPU ) series for its newest gaming laptop segment , at the Computex 2021 event.
The GPU component comes from the Radeon RX 6000M Series family, the successor to the Radeon RX 5000M Series which was launched some time ago. There were three models introduced, namely the Radeon RX 6600M, RX 6700M, and RX 6800M .
Despite carrying different names, these three GPUs share the same RDNA2 (7 nm) architecture with GPU type Navi 22 (RX 6700M and RX 6800M), and Navi 23 (RX 6600M) for the first time in the segment. mobile .
With RDNA2, AMD claims that these three RX 6000M Series GPUs are able to provide superior performance from the previous generation (RDNA) without sacrificing power efficiency.
Compared to laptop GPUs with RDNA architecture, RDNA2 is claimed to have up to 1.5x faster performance and 43 percent less power.
The top model of the RX 6000M Series itself is the RX 6800M which has 12 GB VRAM (GDDR6) and a game clock speed up to 2,300 MHz. The memory itself has speeds of up to 16 Gbps (192-bit).
To support performance, the GPU is equipped with 40 compute units (CUs), 64 render output units (ROPs), 96 MB Infiniti Cache, and 145W+ GPU power (TGP).
With a hardware configuration like this, the AMD Radeon RX 6800M is claimed to be able to run up to 11.8 trillion operations per second (teraFLOPS).
This GPU also claimed to play the game up to date, such as Cyberpunk 2077 until Resident Evil: Village , 1.4 - 1.7x more drag than a laptop gaming powered by GPU-made competitor, Nvidia GeForce 2070 RTX.
For availability, AMD said RX Radeon 6800M and 6600M RX been through the process of delivery ( shipment ) to various vendors (OEMs) laptop gaming that work together, as compiled KompasTekno of XDADevelopers , Wednesday (02/06/2021).
Availability for the Radeon RX 6700M in the market, as well as the prices of the three new mobile GPUs have not been revealed by AMD. We'll just wait.
